Are your social media accounts killing your ministry opportunities

Most Christian leaders are wasting their time on social media, not because they spend hours drooling through the newsfeed but because of how their page looks, what they post, what they don't post.

We would like to let you in to a little research and a few simple tips to build your profile in all forms of social media to double your IMPACT in just 10 minutes a day. What do you call a person that knows what to do but doesn't do it? The same as a person that is offered a solution to their problem but doesn't take it.
Most leaders know they need to fix their social profile but are either just not sure what needs fixing or how to do it, or is really that important. YES IT IS. You are missing lots of valuable contacts because of your incomplete or inappropriate profile and its content.

Pulpit Rock Training will teach you how to have an impacting profile that gets interaction, builds networks, causes you to be seen as an authority and helps you to develop your ministry.
It is a totally free program but exclusive to the members of Africa Network BFTF. This also is a free online platform with over 4300 vetted ministers concerned for Africa.
The platform also contains hundreds of resources and ways to grow your ministry impact which we won't go into here.

Make your application here and get started on your IMPACT. https://bftfafricanetwork.ning.com/

You can qualify as a Certified User in 10 days, as Certified Fellow in a month and a Certified Expert in under 3 months, display your certificate for extra emphasis of your skill, knowledge and persistence on all your social media. You may be surprised how many people you know are already on Africa Network BFTF. What are you waiting for? do it now. Application takes just 2 minutes.

He is NOT Risen

Some were saying, there is no resurrection of the dead.

Then if that is so, Christ is not risen.

Paul addressed the whole issue of resurrection and it's implications whether it happened or not.

1 Cor 15 12-18
12But if it is preached that Christ has been raised from the dead, how can some of you say that there is no resurrection of the dead?

13If there is no resurrection of the dead, then not even Christ has been raised.

14And if Christ has not been raised, our preaching is worthless, and so is your faith.

15In that case, we are also exposed as false witnesses about God. For we have testified about God that He raised Christ from the dead, but He did not raise Him if in fact the dead are not raised.

16For if the dead are not raised, then not even Christ has been raised.

17And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins.

18Then those also who have fallen asleep in Christ have perished

Has Jesus really been raised from the dead?
The Question Paul asks   … “If Christ is not raised then!

  • our preaching is worthless,
  • and so is your faith
  • we are also exposed as false witnesses about God
  • your faith is futile;
  • you are still in your sins
  • The dead have perished

Assuming you know nothing of this Jesus called the Christ
ASK 5 W ?  Who What When Where Why?????

Why is Resurrection Sunday sooooo important?

WHO is This Jesus of Nazareth, they call the Christ, son of man, son of God, messiah, saviour.

Biologically he is both son of man and son of God.

Virgin Mary his mother, God Almighty His Father. Joseph his step dad.

He is son of David (descendant of King David of Israel)
Joseph’s line Luke 3.23 traced Josephs genealogy (legal father) to David through his son Nathan (3rd son of David via Bathsheba)

Mary’s line  Matt 1 traces to Abraham through King David by King Solomons line. (4th son of David via Bathsheba)

Any measure indicates he was David’s son/ entitled to David’s throne.

Did he fulfill the prophecies of the Old Testament?

One scholar, J. Barton Payne, has found 574 OT verses

Alfred Edersheim found 456 OT verses
Others reckon 351

Conservatively, Jesus fulfilled at least 300 or more prophecies in His earthly ministry.

Prophecies found in at least 26 books of OT

What is the chance?
Mathematician Peter Stoner worked out the statistical chance of Jesus fulfilling all the prophecies about him.
If there were only 8 prophecies that chance is 10 ^17

that is 10 and 17  0’s

EG if you take 10^17 silver dollars and lay them on the face of Texas. They’ll cover all of the state two feet deep. Now mark one of these silver dollars and stir the whole mass thoroughly, all over the state. Blindfold a man and tell him that he can travel as far as he wishes, but he must pick up the one silver dollar that has the special mark on it. What chance would he have of getting the right one? Just the same chance that the prophets would’ve had of writing these eight prophecies and having them all come true in any one man, from their day to the present time.

What is the chance of just 48 prophecies being fulfilled in one person? the incredible number 10^157.

How long does it take to count to 10^157?

Counting 250 per minute non stop it would take 19 million years.

Professor Stoner then made the comment that, "Any man who rejects Christ as the Son of God is rejecting a fact proved perhaps more absolutely than any other fact in the world."

WHAT Did Jesus do to prove His Divinity and Messiahship?

Luke 7:21-22 At that very hour Jesus healed many people of their diseases, afflictions, and evil spirits, and He gave sight to many who were blind.  So he replied to the messengers, “Go back and report to John what you have seen and heard: The blind receive sight, the lame walk, those who have leprosy are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the good news is proclaimed to the poor.

He preached the gospel of the Kingdom
He turned water into wine
He fed the 5000 men on a few loaves and fish

He fed the 4000 men on a few loaves and fish

He walked on water

John 20.30 Jesus performed many other signs in the presence of his disciples, which are not recorded in this book.

John 21.25 Jesus did many other things as well. If every one of them were written down, I suppose that even the whole world would not have room for the books that would be written.

Paul, in his defense to King Festus, he says Acts 26.22-23

But I have had God’s help to this day, and I stand here to testify to small and great alike. I am saying nothing beyond what the prophets and Moses said would happen23that the Christ would suffer, and as the first to rise from the dead, would proclaim light to our people and to the Gentiles.”

Jesus prophesied his own death and resurrection

Matt 12.40 & Luke 11.29 For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of a huge fish, so the Son of Man will be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

His resurrection witnessed.

  • He appeared to Mary Magdalene,
  • Cephas (Peter)
  • The 2 Pilgrims(Cleopas) on the Emmaus Road,
  • and the 12,
  • and over 500,
  • to James (son of Mary & Joseph and not a believer until after the resurrection)
  • and later to Paul on Damascus Road.

There are many accounts

Luke 1.1 Many have undertaken to draw up an account of the things that have been fulfilled among us,

Resurrection expert Dr Gary Habermas catalogued over 3400 academic works on the fate of Jesus from conservative, critical and sceptical scholars in English, German and French from this research he was able to show that of the 3400 works studied the majority of writers accept the following twelve events as historical fact.

  1. Jesus died by crucifixion
  2. Jesus was buried
  3. His death caused the disciples to despair and lose hope believing that his life was ended
  4. The tomb was empty a few days later
  5. The disciples had experiences that they believed were literal appearances of the risen Jesus
  6. The disciples were transformed from doubters who were afraid to identify themselves with Jesus to bold Proclaimers of his death and resurrection
  7. This message was the centre of preaching in the early church
  8. This message was especially proclaimed in Jerusalem where Jesus died and was buried earlier
  9. The church was born in Jerusalem and grew quickly
  10. Orthodox Jews who believed in Jesus made Sunday their primary day of worship
  11. James the half brother of Jesus converted to the faith when he saw what he believed was the resurrected Jesus
  12. Paul was converted to the faith after his experience which he believed was with the risen Jesus.

WHEN Did it take place

Jesus was crucified at the Jewish feast of Passover
Most likely Friday 3 April 33AD

But there is reasonable case for the argument of 2 days earlier on the Wednesday (Thursday being a special Sabbath day for Passover).

As we walk with Jesus every day of the year, we can therefore be confident that our faith is based not only on subjective personal assurance but on reliable historical data.

Does it matter which day Jesus was Crucified on?
No; it’s interesting but believe one or the other it won’t affect your salvation.

WHERE Did it take place
Golgotha, the place of the skull (an infamous location just outside the walls of Jerusalem where countless minor criminals had been crucified before and after).

There is no contention from scholars, sceptics or unbelievers that this was the location of Christ's death.

The burial taking place in a new cave tomb and arranged by Joseph of Arimathea, a wealthy Jewish man, a councillor of the Sanhedrin  who awaited God's kingdom, who wishes to ensure that the corpse is buried according to Jewish Law, (dead bodies could not be left exposed overnight.)

Body is wrapped in a new shroud and laid in a rock carved tomb.

The Jewish historian Josephus, writing later in the century, described how the Jews regarded this law as so important that even the bodies of crucified criminals were taken down and buried before sunset.[11]

Joseph does only the bare minimum to observe the Law,

wrapping the body in a cloth, no mention of washing (Taharah) or anointing it.

This may explain why Mark mentions an event prior to the crucifixion in which a woman pours perfume over Jesus.[12] Jesus is thereby prepared for burial even before his death.

WHY - perhaps the most important question we should ask
Why did Jesus die?   Why was it necessary for him to be resurrected?

DIE
The death of Jesus was part of a divine plan to save humanity.

For Christians it is through Jesus's death that people's broken relationship with God is restored. This is known as the Atonement.
God’s relationship with Adam was broken through sin,

God had told Adam, “in the day you eat of it you shall surely die” his spirit died and his body began to decay and ultimately die.
For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Rom 6.23

God presented Christ as a sacrifice of atonement, through the shedding of his blood—to be received by faith Rom 3.25

He then would have had to suffer often since the foundation of the world; but now, once at the end of the ages, He has appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself. Heb 9.26

RESSURECTED
The resurrection amounts to the Father's clear signal that Jesus is the powerful Son of God who has conquered death & reigns, Lord of all.

…and who through the Spirit of holiness was appointed the Son of God in power by his resurrection from the dead: Jesus Christ our Lord.  Rom 1.4

He was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justification. Romans 4.25

The resurrection showed that Jesus was the Son of God.

The resurrection provides hope of a future resurrection and eternal life are well grounded in historical fact.

This leaves us with a burning question that everyone must answer –

If Jesus was who He said he was – Son of God
That he paid the price for your sin on the cross

That He rose again for our justification.

If his claim is true -

I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. John 14.6

As Peter proclaimed in Acts 4.12 Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.

John 3.18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.

Mark 16.16  Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.

So how will you then live ??
Will you:-

  • Believe on Jesus as the Christ, your Messiah, repent of your sin?
  • Follow him
  • Become his disciple
  • Be obedient to his words, receive salvation & forgiveness of sin.

Make a decision today.

If you have already committed to do this will you live as a disciple?

Romans 6:6 We know that our old self was crucified with Him so that the body of sin might be rendered powerless, that we should no longer be slaves to sin.

Colossians 3.8-10 But now you must put aside all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips. 9Do not lie to one another, since you have taken off the old self with its practices, 10and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator.

Will you make a decision to be his disciple – not just a church goer?

Will you renew your mind and actions in obedience to Him?

With such infallible proofs, we can say with confidence that Jesus was raised from, the dead, to permanently, once and for all, defeat sin, Satan and death.

This World Needs You – WHY MISSIONS?

I make no apology for sharing with you the need of missions

Missions was Jesus Life  -  a mission to earth

Matt 4.23-25 Teaching -  Preaching  -  Healing every disease

23Jesus was going throughout all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every kind of disease and every kind of sickness among the people. 24The news about Him spread throughout all Syria; and they brought to Him all who were ill, those suffering with various diseases and pains, demoniacs, epileptics, paralytics; and He healed them. 25Large crowds followed Him from Galilee and the Decapolis and Jerusalem and Judea and from beyond the Jordan.

Jesus Taught

Matt 5.13 You are the salt of the earth

Matt 5.14 You are the light of the world

We are supposed to affect the earth

Teaching educates, He taught the word of God, not religiously like the scribes and Pharisees, but as God intended for it to be understood. People need to KNOW what they are putting there in faith in.
They BELIEVE

Jesus preached

Lk 4.42/4 I must preach in other towns also, ...that is why I was sent.
Preaching lifts faith to personally believe that God can do for YOU what He said He could and would do. Preaching personalises the gospel message to receive.

For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil. 1John 3.8

He came to destroy the works of the devil

LIFTS FAITH

Jesus Healed

Mark 5.21-24  and   35-43 Jairus Daughter
35While He was still speaking, they came from the house of the synagogue official, saying, “Your daughter has died; why trouble the Teacher anymore?” 36But Jesus, overhearing what was being spoken, said to the synagogue official, “Do not be afraid any longer, only believe.” 37And He allowed no one to accompany Him, except Peter and James and John the brother of James. 38They came to the house of the synagogue official; and He saw a commotion, and people loudly weeping and wailing. 39And entering in, He said to them, “Why make a commotion and weep? The child has not died, but is asleep.” 40They began laughing at Him. But putting them all out, He took along the child’s father and mother and His own companions, and entered the room where the child was. 41Taking the child by the hand, He said to her, “Talitha kum!” (which translated means, “Little girl, I say to you, get up!”). 42Immediately the girl got up and began to walk, for she was twelve years old. And immediately they were completely astounded. 43And He gave them strict orders that no one should know about this, and He said that something should be given her to eat.

Jesus healed the sick, He raised the dead. Many other examples in the gospels.

Gospel DEMONSTRATED

He sent the disciples to do the same

Lk 9.1/6 They went from village to village preaching the gospel and healing the sick.

They followed Jesus example.

EMPOWERED DISCIPLES WITH THE SAME AUTHORITY.

I heard Ps Thampy from India speak in 1978 in Australia

Cliff Beard, an Australian apostle, missionary and church planter, announced he was taking a team there, he said, "who wants to come," I put my hand up.

I went in 1979 & 1980 and we held crusades, we saw hundreds of healings and salvations, it infected me for taking the gospel to ALL the world.

I've been going ever since to India, & then Sri Lanka, Singapore, Hong Kong, China, then many other Asian, Paciific Islands, European, American and now over 12 African countries preaching the gospel.

He commanded the disciples at the time of His ascension;

15And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. 16“He who has believed and has been baptized shall be saved; but he who has disbelieved shall be condemned. 17“These signs will accompany those who have believed: in My name they will cast out demons, they will speak with new tongues; 18they will pick up serpents, and if they drink any deadly poison, it will not hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”

Mark 16.15-18

18And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19“Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, 20teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

Matt 28.18-20

Go into all the world and make disciples.

Don't leave anyone out.

This gospel must be preached to all nations (ethnos – every ethnic group) and then will the end come.

It is common for us to witness healings, miracles, releases from demonic possession, oppression and affliction, release from pain and sickness just as Jesus promised, authorised and empowered wherever in the  world we go. It's not an Asian thing, it's not an African thing, it's a God thing.

They did it

Mark 16.20 The disciples went everywhere, the Lord working with them confirming the word with signs following.

Acts 5.42 Day after day, in the temple courts and from house to house, they never stopped teaching and proclaiming the good news that Jesus is the Messiah.

In 1993 we held a large crusade in Kattakada, Sth India,  Over 300 salvations, many healings,

In 2001 we were conducting ministers trainings in Sth India, my team and I stayed one location (Kovalam Beach) and went to various places,

One day I recognised the town I was in, I told Ps Thampy, he said, the 70 Pastors & leaders you taught today weren't even saved when you had that crusade here in 1993, they had planted over 50 churches in this region out of that crusade.

Through the centuries

Great men & women have risen up with a passion to preach Christ to their own countrymen and others.
But Smith Wigglesworth has gone, Oral Roberts has gone, TL Osborn has gone, Billy Graham has gone, Benson Idahosa has gone, Reinhard Bonnke has gone, you and I the ones that are still here. We cannot rely on some great name from the past to fulfil the great commission. It is our commission.

What is the force that moved the greats of old?

  • The command to GO
  • The need of salvation (Hell is real) - Without Christ all men are eternally lost.
  • The Knowledge, it is possible to reach our generation - They volunteered and were sent.
  • They believed God could save anybody.

TODAY

World Population is over 8 Billion (as at Nov 2022).

Population net growth 184,000 people a day.

One third of the world has some form of Christian religion.

Still 2/3 of the world has not embraced Christianity in any form.

One third of the world has access to the gospel through people in their culture and proximity.

One third of the world has no chance to hear the gospel.

No Bible in their language   -    No church in their culture

97% of the unevangelised live in the "10-40 Window

Map: https://blog.eastwest.org/the-10/40-window-and-the-great-commission

96% of all worldwide church income is consumed on 4% of the population.

Leaves 4% of the income for 96% of the population.

World harvest is about getting our priorities right

Doing what Jesus commanded

NOT SIT,  NOT THINK,  NOT TALK ABOUT IT,

BUT   PRAY    GIVE    GO

Do it all

Are you spiritually maladjusted

What is the use of personal physical hygiene, if we have filthiness of mind & spirit;

What is the use of religious piety,                     if we have soul carnality;

What is the use of physical strength,                if we have spiritual weakness;

What is the use of worldly wealth,                    if we have spiritual poverty;

What is the use of social popularity                  if we are unknown in hell.

                               PRAYER IS THE REMEDY

World harvest starts where you live and reaches the whole world.

We can achieve our goals together if we all pray, give and go.

What will you do with Jesus command?

The Power of One

Aren't you glad somebody has always believed in the power of one.

It works for good or evil, but it works

Like back in the year dot when ONE man (Adam) plunged the entire human race in to the kingdom of darkness.

Like in 1491 BC when ONE man, Moses had the courage to stand up and say what God said, "let my people go"

Like in the year zero when ONE man, Jesus Christ said, "Not my will but your will be done" and took the punishment for sin for all mankind to lead us back into God's kingdom.

Like ONE man Mohandas Karamchand (Mahatma) Gandhi  famously led Indians in challenging the British-imposed salt tax with the 400km Dandi Salt March in 1930, and later in calling for the British to Quit India in 1942. Gandhi led India to independence in 1947 and inspired movements for civil rights and freedom across the world.

Like Rosa Parks sat on the bus on 1 Dec 1955 in Montgomery, Alabama  and the driver said, "you must move to the back of the bus, or be thrown in jail" But she stayed and stood her ground, and she brought that old law down, whom the United States Congress called "the first lady of civil rights" and "the mother of the freedom movement"

I'm glad that ONE man Jean Pierre Riefler had the wisdom and unction to ask me on 25 December 1974 would I receive Christ.

ONE man (or woman) makes a difference if you believe in the power of ONE.

Rom 5:17  For if by ONE man's offence death reigned by ONE;

much more they which receive abundance of grace

and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by ONE, Jesus Christ.

Remember what Jesus stood for.

Will you be ONE that will accept what God did,

say what God said,

and reign in life by ONE Christ Jesus?

It's also a time to be challenged, inspired, motivated to live for Him.

Ask God to challenge you to live for Him, who died for us.

What will you make of 2023?

Will you be a victim or conqueror?

Will you sit back under oppression or stand up for righteousness?

Will you suffer under the circumstances or change them?

Will you be an 'also ran' or a winner?

Will you be one with a good excuse or ONE who, in Christ, changed things.
